Outside The Box Set To Perform 'The Wild, The Innocent And The E Street Shuffle' At The Stone Pony On August 17
The band will perform the seven tracks from Bruce Springsteen's 1973 epic album, 'The Wild, The Innocent and The E Street Shuffle' in sequence. As part of their Stone Pony summer residency this summer, Outside The Box has already paid tribute to the albums & artists who have most inspired their music – Elvis Costello's 'My Aim Is True', Tom Petty's 'Damn The Torpedoes', Bob Dylan's 'Blonde on Blonde' as well as songs from The Band, Credence Clearwater Revival and The Allman Brothers.
“This is the album that introduced us to Springsteen's music,” said Outside The Box lead singer Jeff Cafone. “It is concise and powerful, and we couldn't be more proud to perform it at The Stone Pony.”
'Bridge', the debut album from Outside The Box, has already received rave reviews.
The Star Ledger's Jay Lustig wrote: "'Bridge', highlighted by "Love Is the Villain," a song whose driving energy and hint of a snarl reminds me, more than anything else, of early Graham Parker (though you can hear traces of Petty and Costello and Dylan in there as well).”
The JerseyBeat.com called 'Bridge': “A winning surplus of raw energy, sturdy musicianship, and positively infectious go-for enthusiasm...a totally kick-ass album”.
The album is available on itunes, www.outsidetheboxband.com or at Jack's Music Shoppe in Red Bank, NJ.
Special guests Southside Johnny Lyon, Joe Grushecky and Jeff Kazee have all joined Outside The Box on-stage the during the summer residency.
Outside The Box 2011 summer residency is presented by Six Point Brewery. Tickets are available for $10 at the Stone Pony box office (Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park) and $5 with college ID.
