Phoenix Productions Holds Auditions for SOUTH PACIFIC

(Red Bank, NJ) – Phoenix Productions, Central New Jersey's award-winning community theatre company, announces open auditions for their July production of SOUTH PACIFIC which will play at the Count Basie Theatre, Red Bank, for six performances on September 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25 and then at the Strand Theater, Lakewood, for two performances on October 1.

All roles are open. No appointment is necessary.  Please prepare 32 bars of an up-tempo Rodgers & Hammerstein song.  You should also prepare an R&H ballad but you may not be asked to sing it.  Bring sheet music in the appropriate key. An accompanist will be provided.
There will not be a dance audition at the first audition. You may be asked to read from the script.

Casting Requirements: SOUTH PACIFIC calls for a cast of about 35.  In addition to the lead and featured roles, an ensemble of military men and nurses is needed.  Also needed are actors of Polynesian descent for lead, featured and ensemble roles.  SOUTH PACIFIC includes several songs that have become popular standards, like "Some Enchanted Evening," "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair," "Bali Ha'i," and "I'm in Love With a Wonderful Guy."

Audition Dates:     
Saturday July 16 from 12-4pm;
Monday July 18 from 7-9pm;
Wednesday July 20 from 7-9pm
