GENE & SHELLEY ENLOW RECITAL HALL Announces ASTA/NJ Chamber Music Institute "Summer String Concert Series"
"Summer String Series" at Enlow Hall gets underway with Concert Artist Ensemble (Sunday, July 31 at 7:30 p.m.). The Concert Artist Ensemble is comprised of world-renowned performing musicians on the faculty of Kean University's Department of Music. Since the Concert Artist Program's inception in 1998, Kean's Concert Artists individually have performed as soloists and chamber musicians here and abroad, recorded CDs, been nominated for a GRAMMY® Award and several Latin GRAMMY(R) Awards, performed on Live From Lincoln Center, debuted at prestigious venues and received numerous awards and recognition. "Summer String Series" continues with Voxare String Quartet (Thursday, August 4 at 8 p.m.), known for its inventive programming, technical prowess, attention to detail and passionate performances. Formed in 2008, Voxare performs a repertoire spanning five centuries and is widely acclaimed for their ability to break down the boundaries of classical music.
The Dalí Quartet (Sunday, August 7 at 7:30 p.m.) blends a unique mix of traditional string quartet repertoire with Latin American chamber music to create an extraordinary concert experience. In the spirit of famed Spanish artist Salvador Dalí, The Dalí Quartet embraces imagination and excellence as central to its art form.
JACK Quartet (Thursday, August 11 at 8 p.m.) offers fresh interpretations of early music and seeks to broaden and diversify the potential audience for new music. Comprising violinists Christopher Otto and Ari Streisfeld, violist John Pickford Richards, and cellist Kevin McFarland, JACK is focused on the commissioning and performance of new works, leading them to work closely with composers.
Single tickets to each concert are $25. The "Summer String Series" ticket package is $75 and includes all four concerts – a $25 savings. Single tickets and ticket packages are on sale now. Tickets can be purchased by calling Kean Stage Box Office at 908.737.SHOW (7469), online at enlowhall.kean.edu, or in person at Kean University's Wilkins Theater Box Office.
