South Camden Theatre Company Announces 2011 - 2012 Season

(CAMDEN, NJ) -- The South Camden Theatre Company, a nonprofit professional theatre organization located in Camden, New Jersey, announces its seventh season titled "Tenn Times Ten," featuring works written by and inspired by Tennessee Williams in celebration of the centennial of his birth.

Producing Artistic Director Joseph M. Paprzycki states, "For our seventh season, I chose to focus on one of America's greatest playwrights to honor what would have been his 100th birthday in 2011. The plays selected represent Tennessee's writing and work rarely seen onstage. We begin with 'Suddenly Last Summer' directed by Connie Norwood and running October 21 - November 6 2011. We follow with a one-weekend festival themed 'Tennessee Williams into the Future,' featuring local high school students performing various one-act plays from the author. Our third production of the season is the world premier of my play 'Tennessee's Final Curtain.' Directed by Allen Radway, the play takes place on the evening of Williams's death as we see Tennessee's inspirations as well as the ghosts and demons that tormented him. This production runs February 10 - 26, 2012, including a special performance on the anniversary of Tennessee's death, February 23. We will conclude our season with 'Night of the Iguana,' directed by Randall McCann, running April 20 - May 6, 2012. By devoting an entire season to his work, we will highlight his continued importance to American theatre. This creative focus gives our audience a chance to see, feel, and experience Tennessee's work in a way not usually seen in theatres."

Performances will be held Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2:00 p.m. at the 96-seat Waterfront South Theatre located at 400 Jasper Street in Camden, New Jersey. Tickets and season passes are available for purchase for $15 online at http://www.southcamdentheatre.org, by calling 1-866-811-4111 or at the door.
