Party Like a Scotsman at "Burns Supper" at Ugly Mug on January 27

(Cape May) – Party like a Scotsman and celebrate one of the world's finest poets! On Thursday, January 27th, the Ugly Mug in downtown Cape May will host the seventh annual Exit Zero Burns Supper at 7PM.

The birth of Rabbie Burns is celebrated every year in Scotland and all over the world, from Russia and China to the US, with Burns Suppers, where recitals of Burns' legendary poems and songs are enjoyed, along with quantities of haggis, and usually whisky! Burns was a prolific writer, but is best known for penning "Auld Lang Syne." And John Steinbeck's novel, "Mice and Men," took its title from the verse of a Burns poem, "To A Mouse."

The annual celebration in Cape May is being held, as always, in the British pub-style atmosphere of the Ugly Mug, where the men of the Cape Atlantic Irish Pipe Brigade will entertain the audience with a selection of Scottish bagpipe classics throughout the night.

Tickets cost $30 and include a three-course Scottish meal and a cash bar. Choose from beef or vegetarian haggis, and classic fish-and-chips.

All proceeds from the shindig benefit Cape May Stage. To reserve a ticket, call Exit Zero at (609) 770-8479 or email Jack Wright at jack@exitzero.us.
