Since its flagship location opened in December 2001, Alice's Tea Cup has become a destination in New York City for locals and tourists who crave a classic afternoon tea with delicious food, served without pretension. Sisters and owners Haley and Lauren Fox learned at an early age that tea was more than just a beverage-it was an event to be shared and protected-and they divulge their tea-making philosophy and delectable recipes, including one for their world-famous pumpkin scones.
Haley and Lauren also provide inspirational ideas for "Curiouser and Curiouser" tea parties for every occasion, advice on brewing the perfect cup of tea, and even instruction on using tea to dye cherished linens. Named the best tea salon in New York by Time Out, Alice's has a charm and whimsy that has everyone from kids to celebrities lining up for the perfect New York tea experience.
