Multiple Asbury Music Award Nominee, Tara Elliott & The Red Velvets will perform at Trinity and The Pope in Asbury Park, New Jersey on Friday, May 27, 2011. Amidst a Bayou-inspired décor, get your dosage of this red-hot punk blues power trio often referred to in print as "The Bastard Child of Janis Joplin and the Stooges". While soaking in the rockin' vibes, feast your taste buds on New Orleans' staples like gumbo and jambalaya, along with creative takes on fried green tomatoes, oyster po’ boy sliders and fried alligator bites. So sit back and sip on their extensive wine collection and sophisticated cocktail selection while enjoying the show.

Tara Elliott and The Red Velvets (NJ/NY) - "These days, Elliott can be found wowing audiences as part of the power trio Tara Elliott and The Red Velvets, a down-and-dirty combo whose raw sound and red-hot energy recall the days when trash rockers like the New York Dolls and their musical offspring prowled the streets of New York City." -Alex Biese, Assoc. Producer of Asbury Park Press Metromix Jersey Shore

Fronting the band, rocker Tara Elliott performs in a theatrical demeanor: rocking hard head-to-toe in red velvet that is self-designed as her duly trademark. Tara Elliott and The Red Velvets is contributing (track 14, "You Drive Me Wild") to a Main Man Records release, a tribute CD to The Runaways featuring Cherie Currie, Kittie, The Donnas, Beastie Boys' Ad-Rock, Bebe Buell, David Johansen (NY Doll), Peaches, Kathleen Hanna which will be released June 2011. Tara Elliott and The Red Velvets will be sharing the stage with above mentioned legendary acts for CD release parties in L.A. and New York City. In addition, they've shared the stage with international acts: Bon Jovi's David Bryan, Styx and Electric Light Orchestra's Glen Burtnik, Steve Conte of The New York Dolls and Michael Monroe, Nicole Atkins, The Ramones' producer Daniel Rey, Hamell On Trial and more. In December, their self-released eponymous debut EP listed at No. 9 in SIMGE's TOP 12 EPs of 2010. The EP was engineered by Monster Magnet drummer, Bob Pantella; Pantella is featured on the drums of "Teenage Secret". In an attempt to revive good old fashioned rock 'n' roll humor, Elliott let Rosemary Conte (mother of New York Doll guitarist, Steve Conte) wash her mouth out with soap for the album cover art. Currently, Tara Elliott & The Red Velvets are recording their debut full-length album. (www.reverbnation.com/taraelliottandtheredvelvets and www.facebook.com/redvelvets)
