Cape May Stage presents My Shadow and Me

(Cape May, NJ) -- Cape May Stage, as part of its commitment to producing quality original theatre, is proud to announce another world premiere event.  My Shadow and Me, a family-oriented musical written by Bryan Seastrom and Mary Lauren, is a simple story about two friends and Fletcher the Dog, all helping each other achieve their artistic ambitions.  Part of Cape May Stage's Second Stage Series, My Shadow and Me will be performed on Monday, December 5 at 8 p.m. at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse in downtown Cape May.

The story unfolds when Mary finds herself lost backstage in an old Broadway theatre after another harrowing audition.  She finds herself lost both literally and artistically as she tries to find inspiration in the 'crazy life" of show business.  She encounters a charming sheepdog named Fletcher and a troubled former vaudevillian performer both struggling with the changing times and they soon discover that they might be stronger as a team.

My Shadow and Me is a 90-minute world premiere musical review incorporating music, dance, comedy, and puppetry in a fun-filled evening to be enjoyed by audiences of all ages.  Kids will love Fletcher, a warm and fun-loving puppet character that makes his stage debut in this production.  After several years of development, Lauren and Seastrom have created a 2-person show that aims to celebrate show business and inspire and touch the hearts and funny bones of everyone.  It's a magical show for the whole family.

Part of Cape May Stage's Second Stage Series, My Shadow and Me will appear Monday, December 5th at 8 p.m. at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse located at 405 Lafayette Street in downtown Cape May.  Tickets are $20 adults, $10 kids.  Call (609) 884-1341 for reservations and information or visit the theatre's website, www.capemaystage.org.

Cape May Stage's Second Stage Series is presented through the gracious support of Chris and Dave Clemans.
