(RED BANK, NJ) -- It happens to all of us this time of year, the stresses of work, school, sports practices, and the holidays begin to set in. On November 15, Meridian Health will host an event offering a dose of laughter and inspiration from renowned author and stress management expert, Loretta LaRoche. As a columnist, speaker, and Emmy Award nominee featured on CNN, FOX, and ABC, Loretta uses humor to reframe a stressful situation and captures a fresh perspective on the difficult parts of life in her program, Life is not a Stress Rehearsal.
"In a non-stop world where we are going full steam ahead, it can seem difficult to keep our heads above water, never mind keep an upbeat attitude," says Lori Colineri, Vice President of Nursing at Riverview Medical Center. "We hope this program brings some perspective to the women of our communities on how to strive for a less stressful, and healthier, life balance."
The event will be held in the newly renovated Two River Theater in Red Bank, with the chance to attend a pre-show cocktail reception in the main lobby of the theater, where attendees will have the chance to meet Loretta LaRoche. Proceeds from the events will benefit Meridian Cardiovascular Network and the Women's Center at Riverview Medical Center. Partnering with Meridian Health is The Asbury Park Press, InJersey Magazine, and Branches Catering as event sponsors.
As a busy woman herself, Lori hopes this event is beneficial to other do-it-all ladies of Monmouth and Ocean County. "Too often do women dismiss their own health needs to care for the people around them," she says. "We hope that for one evening, they can take the weight of the world off their shoulders for a fun and motivating evening that benefits Women's Health services at Meridian. Laughter is in fact the best medicine!"
