ReVision Theatre Presents Little Shop Of Horrors

(Asbury Park, NJ) -- ReVision Theatre is pleased to announce the cast of its upcoming October production of Little Shop of Horrors.  This outstanding cast features Michael Linden (Spring Awakening Nat'l tour, ReVision's Spring Awakening), Rhiannon Hansen (Legally Blonde Nat'l Tour), Alex Michaels (Terms of Dismemberment, Off Broadway), Dayna Jarae Dantzler (The Color Purple, Nat'l Tour), Chelsea Zeno (ReVision's Spring Awakening, Kingdom), Stephany Mora, Aliya Bowles (Spring Awakening Nat'l Tour, Footloose)  and Bradley Mott (Steppenwolf's Slavs, You Can't Take it With You).

Mary Catherine Burke (Austentacious, NYMF) is set to direct, with choreography by Brad Landers (Cats Nat'l Tour), and Musical Direction by Michael Thomas Murray (ReVision's Tommy, Rocky Horror, Xanadu, Spring Awakening).

The Little Shop creative team includes, Clifton Chadick (Set Design), Sarah Maiorino (Costume), and Dan Jobbins (Lighting).

One of the longest-running Off-Broadway shows of all time, this affectionate spoof of 1950s sci-fi movies has become a household name, thanks to a highly successful film version and a score by the songwriting team of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, who redefined the animated musical film with Disney's The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. Charming, tuneful and hilarious, with tongue firmly planted in cheek, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS never fails to entertain.

Director Mary Catherine states, "I was thrilled to be offered this opportunity to rethink Little Shop of Horrors, especially when the producers told me they didn't want to rent the "traditional" plant.  When most people think of this show they think of a giant puppet, but in this production we've cast Audrey Two as a woman who sees how infatuated Seymour is with Audrey, and uses this knowledge to manipulate Seymour into feeding her.  The show has quite a few Sci-Fi elements, it is about a plant striving for world domination, and in this production the "Street Urchins" who normally function as a Greek chorus, are under-cover agents who are here to stop Audrey Two.   It provides a lot of dynamic choreography moments".

As always, ReVision audiences should expect a new take on this hilariously, entertaining musical that is set to bring joy to audiences of all ages and will have you singing the tunes all the way home.  This production is not to be missed!
