The eternal love triangle that has been the cornerstone of Archie comics for almost seven decades is finally untangled in this seven-part story written by Michael Uslan, executive producer of the Batman films, and illustrated by veteran Archie artist, Stan Goldberg. It begins when Archie finds himself strolling up one path of Memory Lane and marries the wealthy and cultured Veronica Lodge. Later, we find out what happens when he strolls a second path up Memory Lane and marries the wholesome, peppy girl next door Betty Cooper.
"Archie has had its place in people's lives for generations and generations. People are shocked at how much these characters still mean to them."
-The New York Times
"The reaction to the Archie wedding story reminds us that comic book characters hold a special place in our collective memory," says Charles Kochman, executive editor of Abrams ComicArts, "we follow their lives and their decisions as we do those of our friends and family. We are thrilled to have this celebrated book on our list and present this timeless story in such a special edition."
In Archie Marries . . ., the pivotal series of seven issues is collected in hardcover, in a double diecut slipcase, and packaged with a reprint of a classic Archie comic. The book includes all-new supplementary material created especially for this edition, including new front and back cover art by Stan Goldberg, script outtakes, never-before-seen sketches, thumbnails, annotations, vintage covers, and exclusive interviews with writer Michael Uslan, illustrator Stan Goldberg, inker Bob Smith, colorist Glenn Whitmore, letterer Jack Morelli, longtime Archie editor Victor Gorelick, and Archie co-CEO Jon Goldwater.

In an attempt to revive good old fashioned rock 'n' roll humor, Elliott let Rosemary Conte (mother of New York Doll guitarist, Steve Conte) wash her mouth out with soap for the album cover art. Currently, Tara Elliott & The Red Velvets are recording their debut full-length album. (www.myspace.com/taraelliottblues)
Frankenstein 3000 (NJ) - "F3K can be described as a throw-back to when music was alive with intense energy and break-all-the-rules mentality." -The Aquarian Weekly Recording artist, signed to Main Man Records and Asbury Park Music Award Winner for Best Rock Band. They've shared the stage with such luminaries as The Smithereens, Skid Row, Monster Magnet and countless others; the band can easily hold their own, winning over any crowd they play for. They've become a regular opening act for The New York Dolls, and even hit the road with them for a short tour in the summer of '08. Frankenstein 3000 have also served as the backing band for such legends as Cheetah Chrome (Dead Boys), Cherie Currie (The Runaways) and Annabella Lwin (Bow Wow Wow), and have been joined on stage by David Johansen (New York Dolls), Dennis Dunaway (Alice Cooper) and Earl Slick (David Bowie, John Lennon) (http://www.frankenstein3000.com)
Clinical Trials (NY) - Electro-grunge, bad ass girl duo from NYC. "The sound of Clinical Trials is influenced by Nirvana, Patti Smith, PJ Harvey, Ladytron, Sonic Youth, Depeche Mode, Ayn Rand, long walks on an imaginary beach, and Russian literature. Bingham's sonic goal is to meld her unhealthy Kurt Cobain obsession with dirty synthesizers and distorted beats - and she finds success on the debut EP "In the Wake of the Digital Afterlife," which was digitally released on January 1, 2010." Kean University Summer Camps 2011
(UNION, NJ) -- Kean University announces the Summer Camps 2011 program, which has something for everyone ages 6 through 18. University departments and community organizations are offering a variety of camp sessions during July and August.
An eclectic course schedule provides options in music, theatre, dance, baseball, volleyball, field hockey, debate, literature, creative writing, mathematics, science, history and creative design. This exceptional line up is offered in collaborations with Premiere Stages, Liberty Hall Museum, American String Teachers Association, Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company, The College of Visual and Performing Arts at Kean, Eldridge Overton School of Excellence, Kean University Athletics, working professionals and teaching artists in all these fields. Camp sessions are one or two weeks in duration and campus housing is offered for some areas of study.
Premiere Stages provides workshops in acting, play development, movement and speech for middle and high school students. Premiere is the professional theatre company in its seventh year in residence at Kean, with original productions that have included performances by Emmy Award winner Kim Zimmer and film / television actor Lorenzo Lamas.
Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University is home of New Jersey's first elected governor and signer of the Constitution, William Livingston. Built in 1772, on the eve of the American Revolution, Liberty Hall has been a silent witness to more than 200 years of American history. The museum's summer camp takes 7 to 13 year olds on a time travelling experience, learning history through activities, crafts and exhibitions.
Kean University Athletics Department trains campers ages 8 to 18 in baseball, volleyball, basketball and field hockey clinics. Volleyball and field hockey camps offer an overnight option for participants to live on campus. The athletics department at Kean boasts title-holding college teams (the Cougar baseball team has competed in NCAA tournaments) and state of the art facilities that include Harwood Arena, the Jim Hynes '63 Stadium (baseball), Cougar Field (softball), the Alumni Stadium, a fitness and rehabilitation center and the pool in D'Angola Gymnasium.
The College of Visual and Performing Arts / Robert Busch School of Design hosts the Thinking Creatively Design Camp, in which aspiring artists in high school experience the cross-discipline categories of advertising, promotional, industrial, interactive and interior design. The design school provides students the best possible career-oriented education, including the development of a high quality portfolio that is competitive with the finest schools of art and design nationwide.
Visiting organizations to Kean University include The Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company, whose camp explores modern dance for teens and adults – beginners through advanced. Now in its 28th season, the company has been hailed for its elegance and power, its technical ability, versatility, and inner fire. The company presents new and repertory works by Ms. Dorfman and nationally known choreographers, regularly commissions original scores, and forges artistic collaborations.
The American String Teachers Association, founded more than 60 years ago, is a membership organization for string and orchestra teachers and players, helping them to develop and refine their careers. Their summer camp at Kean University provides student chamber music players from eighth grade to college freshman the opportunity to develop performance skills with top performers and instructors in one week residential sessions. Room and board are included as part of the camp.
Eldridge Overton School of Excellence offers a selection of camps for 6 to 12 year olds in science, communications, literature and mathematics. Eldridge provides comprehensive, outcome based programs that foster the development of academic and social skills in young children to equip them in achieving their full potential. They provide individualized programs that address unique learning styles, cultivate independent thought, promote the realization of age-appropriate milestones and build self-esteem and character.
Further information on the Kean University Summer Camps 2011, including individual enrollment procedures for each camp, can be found by visiting the university website at www.kean.edu/summercamps.
