PRIME TIME TV GOES LATIN WITH JUAN CALDERON AT KEAN UNIVERSITY

(Union, NJ)  Kean Stage presents Juan Calderon's Cultural Explosion in a performance of Prime Time TV Goes Latin on Saturday, December 10 at 7:30 pm in Kean University's Wilkins Theatre.  In a tribute to some of America's most beloved television shows, the dance performance features re-inventions of TV's most iconic theme songs by adding a Latin twist.  This one-night extravaganza will highlight popular Latin dances including salsa, mambo, cha-cha-cha, Latin jazz and Rueda De Casino.

Cultural Explosion Dance Company has been providing dance instruction and performances for theatres, schools, corporations and private events for over 10 years.  The company dancers have gained worldwide recognition for their uniqueness and creativity in performance, for their patient and entertaining style of instructing, and for their elegant and exciting style of dancing.  Through the success of world-class performances, and dance instruction with a syllabus that serves as a model to dance studios everywhere, the renowned Cultural Explosion Dance Company has become a leader in Latin dance entertainment.  The troupe has produced numerous instructional DVDs which are sold internationally.

Juan Calderon, artistic director, is a renowned instructor of salsa and Latin dance based in New Jersey.  His students have traveled from Italy, China and Portugal to take private lessons with him and he tours the US as well as Italy, England, France, Spain, Canada and Latin America to provide training.  He has choreographed specific salsa routines for the New York Knicks Dancers' halftime show and served as salsa instructor to Dance Theatre of Harlem's ballerinas.
