(New Jersey) – Outside The Box, the Jersey Shore based foursome blending classic elements of rock with a modern flair and driving blues-inspired pop edge, have announced they will officially partner with Brooklyn's own Sixpoint Craft Ale with several sponsored elements including their weekly 2011 Stone Pony residency and a private New York City album release event to support debut record ‘Bridge' due out on Tuesday, July 12.
On Wednesday night, Outside The Box will continue their residency at the Stone Pony as they will play many of the eleven tracks from ‘Bridge', including the debut single "Love Is The Villain". The band will also continue to pay tribute to artists that have inspired their own sound. This week, the foursome will play songs from the legendary group, The Band. Since the beginning of their summer residency, Outside The Box have covered Elvis Costello's ‘My Aim Is True', Tom Petty's ‘Damn The Torpedoes' and Bob Dylan's ‘Blonde on Blonde'.
"Having attended countless shows at the legendary Stone Pony while living in Holmdel," explains Sixpoint founder Jeff Gorlechen, "Outside the Box instantly reminded me of the bands I used to see there. Their roots rock sound has an updated feel that fits perfectly with Asbury Park's recent renaissance. We are thrilled to have the Stone Pony serve Sixpoint and support Outside the Box's continued success."
Tickets are available for $10 at the Stone Pony box office (Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park) and $5 with college ID.
About Sixpoint Brewery:
Sixpoint Brewery was born out of an 800-square-foot garage in Brooklyn, NY, in 2004 by homebrewer Shane Welch, who had amassed over 1000 individual homebrew recipes. The brewery's name is derived from the ancient six-pointed brewer's star, which had symbolically adorned the walls and equipment of breweries since at least the Medieval period. Sixpoint's motto is "Beer is Culture," and Sixpoint aims to perpetually inspire the art, creativity, and community generated through beer.
Sixpoint is available on tap at fine bars and establishments in New Jersey, Philadelphia, New York, and Massachusetts. Nanokegs of Crisp Lager, Sweet Action, Bengali Tiger IPA, and Righteous Ale are available at beer stores in those same markets.
Outside The Box (outsidetheboxband.com) has quickly developed into one of New Jersey's most dynamic new original rock bands. Formed in 2004, band members consist of Jeff Cafone (Guitar, vocals), Mark Masefield (Hammond B3 organ, keyboards), Francis Valentino (Drums), and Ryan Wheeler (Bass).
In 2007 and 2008, OTB won the Asbury Music Award categories for Top Young Band and Top Blues Band, and received nominations for Top Keyboard Player and Top Male Vocalist. The band retained the title "Top Blues Band" at the 2009 awards, and was nominated for Top Live Performance & Top Male Vocal.
OTB have shared the stage with artists such as Buddy Guy, Blues Traveler, G.E. Smith, Govt Mule, Steven Van Zandt, Jesse Malin, Ryan Cabrera, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, The Smithereens, The Fab Faux, Jeffrey Gaines, and many more.
