Celebrating its 62nd Season of Broadway at the Beach, Surflight Theatre, a Jersey Shore entertainment destination for over 60 years, now under the leadership of Producer and Surflight alum Roy Miller, is proud to announce Surflight Theatre's partnering with New York's legendary comedy club - Catch a Rising Star for an all-star lineup of stars and concerts coming to Long Beach Island for Monday nights at 8pm this summer from June 27 through August 29.
"As part of our efforts to take the new Surflight to the next level of excellence, I am proud to welcome Catch a Rising Star to our theatre and join forces with Catch partners Craig Neier and Suzy Yengo," said Producer Roy Miller. Miller continued, "Our starry line-up for Monday nights at Surflight include: June 27: New Jersey's own Uncle Floyd; July 11: Law & Order star - Richard Belzer and the Belzonics; July 18: Gilbert Gottfried; July 25 (two shows at 6 and 8pm): John Pizzarelli Quartet and featuring special guest Bucky Pizzarelli; August 1: Mike Marino, August 8: Kevin Meaney, and August 15: Long Live The Beatles, and August 22: Jackie ‘The Joke Man' Martling. Catch a Rising Star -- the Original NY Comedy Club that launched the careers of Jerry Seinfeld, Robin Williams, Billy Crystal, Rosie O'Donnell, Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Maher, Richard Belzer, Ray Romano, Jon Lovitz, Chris Rock, Dane Cook, Bob Saget, Robert Wuhl, and many others -- has been providing Comedy of Legendary Proportions since 1972, with regular clubs in Reno, Nevada, Providence, Rhode Island, Princeton, New Jersey and Jersey City, New Jersey. Miller and Neier met in 1975 while attending Hanover Park High School in East Hanover, NJ. Coincidentally, they both began their careers as magicians and appeared together in a teenage magic competition on the Sunday morning children's television show "Wonderama."
"Additional performers will be added to the Catch roster and announced soon," added Miller. "You might just see a magician or two appearing as well by summer's end."
