The Theater Project Presents Script-in-Hand Staged Readings of Two New Plays by NJ Playwrights on February 19

(Cranford, NJ) -- The Theater Project, Union County College's Professional Theater Company, will perform a script-in-hand staged reading of two new plays - "To A Point" by Michael Z Murphy and "Mask of Ethan" by Ed Lataro - on Saturday, February 19 at 3pm. The production will be followed by a lively discussion with the playwrights, directors, actors and audience.

The performance will take place in the Roy Smith Theater at the Cranford campus of Union County College, 1033 Springfield Avenue. Admission is free. If bad weather closes the college, the reading will take place the following Saturday, February 26 at 3pm. February is the month for couples... so we have TWO new plays for our February event:

To A Point - In the middle of the night, Smitty and Hack are having the 'big talk' about the state of their 7 month-old relationship when suddenly their pasts intrude and throw their future into question. Written by Michael Z Murphy, an Assistant Professor of English at Union County College, who serves as Festival Assistant for the Dodge Poetry Festival. He has had a number of his plays produced throughout New Jersey and lives in Hillside.

Mask of Ethan - Ethan is faced with having to dump Jane, the girlfriend he loves. But why? Has he found a new girlfriend? Has he realized he is gay? Ethan gives no simple answers. Written by Ed Lataro, who writes theatrical plays and screenplays and has had his plays produced in New York City and at a number of theaters throughout New Jersey. He also received an honorable mention in the Writer's Digest Magazine Playwriting Contest.

Reservations are not required. For more information, contact The Theater Project at (908) 659-5189 or by email at THEATERPROJECT@aol.com.
