IVETE SANGALO Announces Performance at Prudential Center This August

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Ivete Sangalo, one of Brazil's greatest artists, is about to embark on a five-city U.S. tour that includes a stop at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday, August 17 – her only area appearance. Ivete made a huge impression in the tri-state area in 2010, when her Madison Square Garden concert quickly sold out weeks in advance, resulting in a hugely successful CD and DVD, "Multishow Live - Ivete Sangalo at Madison Square Garden."

After travelling extensively throughout Brazil, the powerhouse singer from Salvador, Bahia is now touring in support of her tenth solo CD, titled "Real Fantasia," released in October 2012.  The U.S. tour will make stops in Los Angeles, Oakland, Lynn, MA and Miami.

"Real Fantasia is the name of one of the tracks, and became the name of the album and the tour because of what it represents," says Ivete. "It's a bit of a translation of my life, what I'm living. My reality is a fantasy, is music, is art, is the playful, is Carnival."

The Real Fantasy tour presents several innovations. The new repertoire mixes the songs from the CD and Ivete's greatest hits, many with new arrangements. The selections were made with the help of fans, who sent suggestions via Twitter. The show also features new choreography and new glamorous costumes.

Fans can also look forward to interactivity during this concert event. Cameras capture images of Ivete's band and audience for broadcast on the giant LED screen, the backdrop of the show, forming the content of the show and making each performance unique. "Real Fantasy is an interactive tour. You are there enjoying the show, but realize the fantasy of being able to be on stage with me through the transmission," says the singer.

Real Fantasia CD - This is the 10th work from Ivete Sangalo's solo career and features 12 songs that show the versatile and contagious style of the artist between axe music (from Bahia), pop and ballads, plus two bonus tracks: "Eu nunca amei alguém como eu te amei" the soundtrack of the wildly popular Brazilian soap opera Fina Estampa, and "Me Levem Embora" from another soap opera, Gabriela. "This whole project is happy. Happy as I am" says the singer. Among the songs that will be performed are "No Brilho Desse Olhar " and "Dançando," a collaboration between Ivete and Shakira.

About Ivete Sangalo – In 1999, after five years of success as lead singer of Banda Eva, the singer from Juazeiro, Bahia, started her solo career and became one of the most important artists in Brazilian music. The singer has ten solo CDs released (not including compilations), four DVD's and more than 15 million CDs and DVDs sold in Brazil and abroad. She is the undisputed "Queen of Carnaval" in Salvador, and her striking personality and ability to communicate with a diverse and distinct audience put the singer among the five most reliable figures for the Brazilian people, according to a survey conducted by the newspaper Folha de São Paulo in 2010. Altogether, she has over 200 registered fan clubs and the official website of the artist receives about 350,000 visits per month. Ivete's twitter profile now has over 8 million followers.
